What is a CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a unique approach to the relationship between farmers and those who enjoy good food.   As a CSA member, you share in the bounty as well as the risks that accompany farming.  CSA membership allows you to develop a connection with your food, the farm where it is produced, and the people who grow the crops.  As such, Edible Acres CSA membership is a season long commitment.  With a preseason payment, members purchase a "share" of our season's harvest.  Each week during  our harvest season, from mid June to mid October,(about 20 weeks) members receive a box of the best and freshest produce available from Edible Acres

WHY JOIN Edible Acres?

When you join a CSA you are joining a sustainable movement of food production that:

- Nurtures mutual respect and support between consumers (CSA members), and those who grow the food (local farmers).
- Circulates money locally in the community.
- Reduces your environmental impact because the food you eat travels less food miles.
- Allows Edible Acres to grow food with knowledge and labor intensive methods, not chemicals.
- Introduces new and exciting varieties of vegetables that may not be available, or members might not otherwise buy!
- Gives members the enjoyment of locally available foods while learning about eating seasonally , this means having the freshest food possible, while sharing in the natural cycle of the seasons as a community.
